New NTCGS President Appointed

pastor-frankie-imagePastor Frankie Matthews has been named as the third President of National Theological College and Graduate School (NTCGS). He took office in the Fall of 2017. As one of the founding members of NTCGS as well as Baptist Equipping Nationals (BEN), Matthews comes with a deep love of this ministry and a strong desire to see Christian leaders receive sound Biblical training.

Pastor Matthews is a graduate of Forsyth Technical Institute and has received a BS from Liberty Baptist College in 1979. He has completed additional studies at North Carolina Central University and Piedmont Baptist College.

With over 40 years in the ministry, Pastor Matthews brings with him an understanding of pastoral ministry, and a desire to equip others as faithful followers of the Lord.  He has served as youth staff at Thomas Road Baptist Church, 1977-79, as a youth pastor at Calvary Temple Baptist Church 1980-82, and Sheets Memorial Baptist Church 1983-93. Since April 1993, Pastor Matthews has served as Senior Pastor at Sheets Memorial Baptist Church.

As NTCGS President, Pastor Matthews will seek to continue the adherence to the sufficiency of scripture and remains dedicated to equipping nationals to do the work of the ministry.

President Matthews and his wife, Edith, have two adult sons and two grandchildren.
